Third Covid-19 Death In Karnataka: 65-Year-Old Man Who Recently Stayed At Delhi’s Jama Masjid Dies In Tumakuru

Karnataka saw its third Covid fatality as a 65-year-old man from Tumakuru passed away today (27 March).

The man who is said to have three wives and 16 children, is reported to have been admitted on 23 March to the district hospital. All his primary contacts are kept in isolation. Contact tracing is on as the said person is said to have travelled by train to Delhi and stayed at the Jama Masjid for four days and returned to Tumakuru.

On 5 March he travelled to the national capital by Sampark Kranti train and participated in a religious function at the Jamia Masjid on 11th and returned to his hometown Shira from Tumakuru. He is said to have had atleast 400 primary contacts as reported.

The country’s first Corona fatality was also in Karnataka. 76 year old Mohammed Hussain Siddiqui, a religious leader from Kalaburagi in North Karnataka was India’s first Covid fatality. Siddiqui had returned to India from a trip to Saudi Arabia last month.

The state’s second Corona related death was reported yesterday as a 75-year-old from Gauribiddanur who had returned from Mecca who was being treated at Bowring Hospital in Bengaluru passed away yesterday.
