Lambasting the Congress for its promise to repeal the sedition law as mentioned in the party’s manifesto, Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh promised to further strengthen the sedition law if the BJP led-NDA forms the government again for a second term, reports India Today.

He was addressing a gathering at Gandhidham city of Kutch district in Gujarat when he said, "If someone tries to break India, should they be forgiven? They [Congress] say they will end the sedition law, to whom are they giving a signal? If our government comes to power we will make the sedition law even more stringent."

Attacking senior National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah for his demand of a separate prime minister for Jammu and Kashmir, Singh added that if such demands continued, then the NDA government will be left with no other option than to abrogate Articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution.

Singh claimed that although India was capable of making anti-satellite missile way back in 2007, the then PM Manmohan Singh had stopped the scientists from doing so. Previously, former ISRO chief Madhavan Nair's had revealed that he had approached the Prime Minister's Office to get a go-ahead for developing anti-satellite missile technology long ago in 2007 but his request was declined.

"At that time, only Russia, China and the US had that technology. When scientists approached Manmohan Singh for a green signal, he stopped them saying such a step would upset those three countries. But when scientists approached Modi, he immediately gave a go-ahead," Singh said.
