The government is set to discuss the construction of the Ram Temple and Pran-Pratishtha of Ram Lalla in the Parliament on Saturday (10 February), the last day of the budget session.

The discussion on the Ram Mandir will take place in both the houses of the Parliament.

In the Lok Sabha, the discussion will be initiated by BJP leader Satyapal Singh.

This comes as BJP on Friday (9 January) issued a three-line whip to all its MPs in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. The party has asked the MPs to be present in the Parliament today (10 February).

The motion in the Lok Sabha will be moved under Rule 193, which refers to a discussion that does not come under regular or formal motion moved before the House. Unlike regular motions, it does not have a voting on the discussion.

Shiv Sena member Shrikant Shinde, too, has given a notice for a discussion.

In the Rajya Sabha, BJP leaders Sudhanshu Trivedi and K Lakshman will begin the discussion on the Ram Mandir.

The government had earlier extended the session by a day till Saturday. The session, which started on 31 January, was scheduled to end on 9 February.
