In the 2017 assembly elections, the BJP then picked up 50 of these 59; the Apna Dal (BJP ally) picked up one; the SP, four and two each were won by the BSP and the Congress.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, when the SP-BSP-RLD were in an alliance, the BJP still led in 51 of the 59 constituencies and the Opposition alliance led in three. The Congress led in five.

Uttar Pradesh will see election in seven phases with the last date of polling on 7 March and counting of votes on 10 March.
