Poll strategist Prashant Kishor has predicted that the alliance between BJP and JDU will not last till the upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar in 2025.

"The formation that currently exists, in which Nitish Kumar is the face of the NDA and has the BJP's backing, won't exist until the (Bihar) assembly elections. I can give you this in writing," Kishor said, India Today reported.

"And the change will happen within six months of the Lok Sabha elections," the political strategist told reporters.

Kishor's statement comes after Bihar CM Nitish Kumar earlier submitted his resignation to the governor and told him that he had severed ties with the 'Mahagathbandhan' (Grand Alliance).

The JDU chief has staked claim to again form the government in the state with the support of BJP and HAM.

Nitish Kumar is all set to take oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record ninth time. The swearing-in ceremony will happen at 5 pm on Sunday, with two Deputy Chief Ministers - Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha - and six other cabinet ministers also taking oath.

Earlier, in his first reaction to the political turmoil after tendering his resignation letter to the Governor, Nitish Kumar said the state of affairs in the 'Mahagathbandhan' (grand alliance) formed one and a half years ago was 'not good'.
