A summon was issued by a Delhi court on Saturday (27 January) for the appearance of former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, her daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav in connection with a money-laundering case related to an alleged land-for-jobs scam.

The court, under Special Judge Vishal Gogne, has scheduled the presence of the accused individuals at the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi on 09 February as reported by The New Indian Express.

The summons comes after the court took cognisance of the first chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the case.

Judge Gogne emphasised that there is "sufficient material" provided by the probing agency to warrant the issuance of summons to the family members of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Earlier in the month, a chargesheet had been filed in the case, naming individuals such as Hridyanand Chaudhary, a former railway employee, and Amit Katyal, the director of A K Infosystems, who was arrested in November of the previous year.

Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu's son and Bihar's deputy Chief Minister, had previously deposed before the agency and has been summoned again for further questioning.

The ED is anticipated to file supplementary chargesheets in the ongoing investigation.

The ED has alleged that during Lalu Prasad Yadav's tenure as Railway Minister between 2004 and 2009, several railway appointment letters were exchanged for land parcels gifted or sold to Lalu's family.

In October of the preceding year, the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi had granted bail to Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, and RJD MP Misa Bharti in the related case being investigated by the CBI.
