Uttar Pradesh: Swami Prasad Maurya Declares Himself Lok Sabha Candidate From Kushinagar After No Response From INDI Alliance

Former Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Swami Prasad Maurya declared on Sunday (31 March) that he will be contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Uttar Pradesh's Kushinagar.
He said that since the formation (a few days after he left the SP) of Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party (RSSP) on 22 February, he has been advocating for the victory of the INDI Alliance.
He even appealed to the countrymen to save the Constitution, democracy and country by removing the BJP but got no response from major INDI Alliance parties in UP (SP and Congress) over his candidate list.
"I sent a list of five names and I kept waiting for a decision to be taken on it and that the names decided by these two parties would be announced. But no announcement has been made to date," Maurya said.
"So, after a long wait, considering the demand of the people of Kushinagar, I declare myself a candidate for Kushinagar Lok Sabha. SN Chauhan will be the candidate for RSSP from Deoria. The remaining names will also be announced soon," he said.
Maurya left it to the INDI Alliance whether they consider him a part of the opposition bloc or like Bhim Army chief, Chandrashekhar Azad and Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) chief Pallavi Patel certify him to be a non-constituent.
It was reported earlier today, that Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) has formed an alliance with Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and the seat-sharing arrangement will be announced soon.
