Yogi Adityanath Set To Bring Law Against Paper Leaks In Uttar Pradesh, Here Are Key Provisions

The Yogi Adityanath-led government is set to bring a new law to control paper leaks in Uttar Pradesh. The law will include provisions of strict action against those involved in paper leaks and paper-solver gangs.
Jail terms and hefty fines for offenders will be included in the law. The law will make it mandatory to have at least two sets of question papers and all sets will be printed by different agencies, India Today reported.
The printing presses will be chosen confidentially and no unauthorised access will be permitted to them. The question papers will be transported in tamper-proof and multi-layer packaging.
Only government secondary degree colleges, universities, polytechnics, engineering and medical colleges and other well-known, well-funded educational institutes with a clean track record will be chosen as test centres.
These centers will have to be equipped with CCTV systems. Four distinct agencies will be responsible for managing different aspects involved in the conduct of recruitment tests.
No candidate, except women and disabled individuals, will be allotted a centre in their home division. Sufficient time will be given to set question papers and the printing presses will undergo audits.
The counting of question papers will not be allowed and they will include secret codes and confidential security features, like unique barcodes, QR codes, and serial numbers for traceability.
The circular of instructions has already been issued by respective authorities and departments to ensure the implementation of this law as soon as possible.
The decision comes amid paper leak allegations of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the cancelation of the UGC-NET June 2024 exam.
Earlier this year, in February, the recruitment of constables for UP Police was canceled after a similar fiasco of a paper leak. Yogi had then pledged to take strict action against offenders.
