Amidst the controversy surrounding Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's alleged 'flying kiss' gesture, Priyanka Chaturvedi, a member of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and a Member of Parliament, has voiced her opinion on the matter by describing the gesture as "affectionate".
Chaturvedi's statement defending Gandhi has triggered a wave of reactions on social media platforms, with many users criticizing her for downplaying the significance of the alleged gesture.
Chaturvedi stated, "I don't understand that when he was speaking, all the ministers were standing up. Ministers were creating obstructions. He made an affectionate gesture, what problem do you have with it? You are habitual of so much hatred that you fail to understand any gesture of love, of affection”.
Chaturvedi emphasised that despite Rahul Gandhi's disqualification and subsequent legal victory, his words were not driven by animosity.
She implied that his actions, such as returning to the Parliament after winning his cases, were not fueled by hatred towards his opponents.
