Two Chinese nationals attempting to enter India through the Indo-Nepal border in Bihar's East Champaran district were apprehended by security personnel, as reported by officials.

The arrested individuals were identified as Zhao Jing and FU Cong, residents of Jiangxi, a province in eastern China.

They were caught near the Indian customs office in Raxaul town at 8.45 pm on Saturday (22 July) while attempting to cross the border without valid documents.

The motive behind their illegal entry has not been established yet, and they are currently under interrogation. Immigration officials have not ruled out the possibility of espionage being the reason behind their unauthorized movement into Indian territory.

During the interrogation, the Chinese nationals exhibited peculiar behavior, and their statements were inconsistent and self-contradictory. One of them was fluent in English, which raised further suspicions.

It appears that this was not the first attempt made by Zhao Jing and FU Cong to cross the border illicitly. They had previously been apprehended on 2 July, this year, and were given a warning, advising them to enter Indian territory with proper visas. However, despite the warning, they made another unsuccessful attempt to cross the border.

Authorities are continuing the investigation to uncover the true intentions behind the Chinese nationals' attempt to enter India illegally.
