Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra's treasurer, Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj, has said that the murti of Lord Ram Lalla will be installed in the temple in January next year.
SRJTK is the trust set up by the government to oversee the construction and management of Ram Mandir.
Giri Maharaj made the announcement during a visit to Dombivli in Maharashtra to inaugurate a number of programmes.
Maharaj shared that the installation of Lord Ram Lalla's murti will take place in the third week of January 2024. He also revealed that the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is progressing at a rapid pace and is already 70 per cent complete.
He emphasised that arrangements would be made for devotees to visit and pray on the day Ramlalla is installed in his original location.
"The temple's construction is currently 70 per cent complete. We are confident that Ramlalla will be installed in his original location in the third week of January 2024, and that arrangements will be made for devotees to visit and pray on that day," Maharaj was quoted as saying by Hindusthan Samachar.
As part of the construction process, the focus is now on completing the sanctum sanctorum, first floor, and darshan arrangements, he said.
Work on the remaining parts of the temple's craftsmanship will continue, the Trust's treasurer said.
The foundation stone of the under construction grant Ram temple in Ayodhya was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August 2020.
