The Border Security Force (BSF) has intercepted another drone belonging to Pakistan, along the International Border in Punjab close to Amritsar on Wednesday (26 April).

"The search for the drone is still on," said a BSF official.

"A rogue drone entering from the Pak side was intercepted with firing by alert BSF troops in Amritsar Sector. On being fired, the drone returned back to Pak side," BSF said in a statement adding that "a search operation is underway".

Earlier (on 28 March), as well, the BSF has reported shooting down a Pakistani drone in Amritsar area after it carried contraband into Indian territory.

According to the BSF, the drone entered Indian territory from Pakistan and was detected in the area of Border Outpost Rajatal in the Amritsar Sector.

On 13 April, Army troops had brought down another Pakistani drone carrying five loaded AK magazines, some cash and a sealed packet, in the Rajouri area of Jammu and Kashmir near the Line of Control (LoC).

On 3 February, BSF troops have brought down yet another Pakistani drone late night at 2.30am. The drone entered the area of responsibility of the Border Observation Post (BOP) Rear Kakkar in the Amritsar sector of Punjab, a BSF official said.

The drone was recovered on Friday morning along with a packet of contraband between the border fence and the zero line, said the BSF officials.
