'Have To Stand Up': EAM Jaishankar Calls Hamas' 7 October Attack On Israel A 'Big Act Of Terrorism

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar restated India's stance on the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinians terrorist organisation Hamas today (2 November), emphasising that the latter's attack on 7 October against Israel was a "big act of terrorism."
"What happened on October 7, this major act of terrorism, and the subsequent events that followed - this has taken the entire Middle East region in a very different direction," the minister said.
"If there is an issue of terrorism, and we all find terrorism unacceptable, we must stand up," Jaishankar told the gathering.
The minister also reiterated India's position on the question of Palestine.
"Our view is that it has to be a two-state solution," the minister said, adding, "international humanitarian law must be respected by everybody.
