This morning (4 December), a Pilatus PC 7 Mk II aircraft met with an accident during a standard training sortie from Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, the Indian Air Force said in an X post.
"It is with deep regret that the IAF confirms both pilots onboard the aircraft sustained fatal injuries. No damage to any civil life or property has been reported," the Indian Air Force added.
An instructor and a cadet were on board, Air Force officials told news agency ANI, who have reported the time of crash to be 8.55 am.
The Air Force has announced that a Court of Inquiry has been commissioned to determine the cause of the accident.
"Anguished by this accident near Hyderabad. It is deeply saddening that two pilots have lost their lives," Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on X. "In this tragic hour, my thoughts are with the bereaved families."

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
