Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor: 2 Korean Home Appliances Firms To Set Up Operations In Greater Noida DMIC Integrated Industrial Township

Two South Korean home appliances manufacturing companies have expressed their interest in buying 22 acres of land to set up their factories in the DMIC Integrated Industrial Township, a flagship project for Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), with an investment of about Rs 500 crore, The Times Of India reported.

Representatives of two South Korean companies — Gangnam Street and GH Global — met Surendra Singh, CEO of Greater Noida Authority, and apprised them of their proposal.

The integrated township is among the key nodes of the ambitious DMIC project and is managed through a special purpose vehicle – Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited (IITGNL), created as a joint venture between the Centre, represented by the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust, and the state government, represented by the GNIDA.

The DMIC, which is envisaged to comprise a series of large industrial townships, is being developed along a 1,483km rail route from Maicha in Greater Noida to Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Mumbai.

Mumbai-based developer Shapoorji Pallonji is developing the Integrated Industrial Township in Greater Noida on a site measuring 335 hectares. It is expected to facilitate large-scale investments for the commercial and industrial development expected in the DMIC region.

The Integrated Industrial Township is approximately 35km from Noida City. It is also near the integrated transit facility at Boraki (approx. 4km) and the multi-modal logistics hub near Dadri (approx. 6km). It is located around 40 km away from the under-construction Noida International Airport site in Jewar.

Six manufacturing units have set up their plants in this township so far. These units have invested of around Rs.3,700 crore, officials said. The township is expected attract a total investment of around Rs. 33,000 crores once all the plots are sold. Of the township’s 335 hectares, 40.78 are reserved for developing a green belt.
