  • The Greater Noida Authority, in collaboration with the Government of India, has developed a concept plan for the MMTH project on 478 acres.
  • Out of the 478 acres of land required for the two projects, the authority had already handed over the entire land, except for the 44 acres in four villages — Chitheda, Katheda, Palla, and Bodaki.
  • According to the authorities, compensation issues with affected farmers have been resolved, paving the way for the project to move forward.
  • The Greater Noida authority is set to allocate around 44 acres of land in the Bodaki area, which will be used for the development of a Multi-Modal Transport Hub (MMTH).

According to the authorities, compensation issues with affected farmers have been resolved, paving the way for the project to move forward, reports Hindustan Times.

The decision was made during a recent board meeting held on June 6, chaired by Manoj Kumar Singh, the Uttar Pradesh Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner.

The board approved the proposal to provide compensation to the farmers who had been demanding it for their houses built on the land, officials said.

Ritu Maheshwari, the chief executive officer of the Greater Noida authority stated, “We will soon compensate the farmers for their houses, clearing the way for the handover of this 44-acre land for these crucial projects. A sum of Rs 67 crore will be distributed among the farmers from four villages, whose land is required for the projects”.

“The delay in making a decision had hindered the handover of the 44-acre land for the past 6-7 years. However, we have finally resolved this issue, ensuring that the work on the Transport Hub and the Logistics Hub will not be further delayed,” added Maheshwari.

Considering the emerging growth with the significant inflow of investments in the Noida-Greater Noida regions, and a fully equipped upcoming airport for air connectivity — the Greater Noida Authority, in collaboration with the Government of India, has developed a concept plan for the MMTH project.

The project aims to provide enhanced rail connectivity for both goods and passenger logistics in the area.

This will be implemented on 478 hectares of land spread across seven villages around Bodaki.

Out of the 478 acres of land required for the two projects, the authority had already handed over the entire land, except for the 44 acres in four villages - Chitheda, Katheda, Palla, and Bodaki.

Several residents from Bodaki village initially refused to provide their land for the proposed projects as they had not received compensation for their homes. However, they now welcome the government's decision and are willing to hand over their land.

The authority's detailed project report for the proposed multi-modal transport project and logistic hub located in Bodaki village was approved on 25 September 2021.

The project had already received approval from the Indian government and other agencies back in December 2020.

The project features interstate and local bus terminals, a metro station, commercial and retail spaces, hotels, and green open areas.

Once the modal transport hub becomes operational in Bodaki, it will serve as a convenient hub for inter-state transit.

The hub will be situated close to the railway station in Bodaki and will be accessible by public transport, making it easier for residents and visitors to navigate.
