Tracks Beyond India: DMRC Makes Its Presence In Bangladesh

Spreading wings beyond the National Capital Region of India, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is currently engaged to make Uttara North to Motijheel Metro Corridor in Bangladesh operational.

DMRC is actively participating in bids for Metro projects in various cities across the world such as Bahrain, Ho Chi Minh City, Alexandria, and the UAE-Oman Railway Link Project.

Making a strong pitch for its presence felt beyond the border DMRC is working as a General Consultant to the Dhaka Metro jointly with Nippon Koei (Japanese) and Mott Macdonald (UK) companies.

According to DMRC, work is nearing completion on the 20.1 km long Uttara North to Motijheel Corridor in Dhaka Line-6 with a total of 16 stations out of which a partial section of 12 km was made operational on 28 December 2022.

The work is in progress on the 28.8 km long Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport - Kamalapur Corridor on Dhaka Line-1. This corridor has total 19 stations.

Besides, the work is in progress in the 19.5 km long Hemayetpur to Vatara Corridor with 14 stations on the Dhaka-5 line.

DMRC is also providing consulting services for Dhaka MRT Development Project Line-1 involving construction supervision.

DMRC is providing train operators to Kawasaki Railcar Manufacturing Co. Ltd (KRM) for performing train running tests of Dhaka MRT Line-6 Rolling Stock.

DMRC has provided consultancy to almost all commissioned Metros in India. These 25 Indian Cities in addition to NCR namely, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Surat, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Indore, Nagpur, Pune, Navi Mumbai, Dehradun, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Thiruvananthapuram, Raipur and Kozhikode.

Besides, DMRC has provided Interim Consultancy Services to Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Lucknow and Ahmedabad Metro rail projects.

In addition, DMRC has implemented Metro Projects in Jaipur, Mumbai, Kochi, and Noida-Greater Noida Metro rail projects on deposit terms basis.

Some ongoing projects include Patna, and Jaipur work in progress.

It is also engaged in Operation and Maintenance Services for Mumbai Metro Line 3 from Aarey to Cuffe Parade (33.5 km) for a period of 10 years at a fee of Rs 1621 crore ($ 197.7 Million).

While it is providing technical consultancy services for tunnelling works for Narmada Valley Development Authority, DMRC is also providing consultancy for the Central Vista Project in Delhi.
