The Uttar Pradesh government has approved 38 private logistics and warehousing projects worth Rs 2,600 crore across key cities including Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida and Rampur.
As per the Business Standard report, the projects fall under the UP Warehousing and Logistics Policy 2022, which aims to develop a robust logistics network across all 75 districts by promoting multi-modal logistics hubs, warehousing clusters, cold storage facilities, and distribution centres.
The policy also provides a range of incentives, including tax exemptions and financial support, to attract private and institutional investors.
According to the UP State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), the projects will come in Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Rampur and other cities.
"This is a major step toward achieving UP’s $1 trillion economy goal. Aligning with this vision, UPSIDA is prioritising the logistics and warehousing sector," a senior official was quoted as saying by Business Standard.
To ensure effective monitoring, five projects with a cumulative investment of Rs 400 crore have been assigned unique identity markers to track their progress.
The official added that the new developments are expected to significantly enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce logistics costs, and attract major national and global players to the state’s industrial landscape.
UPSIDA is also focusing on expanding industrial land banks and equipping them with modern infrastructure to create “plug-and-play” manufacturing zones for investors.
The agency’s budget allocation has seen a substantial increase, from Rs 415 crore in FY24 to Rs 6,190 crore for FY26, primarily for developing roads, water and sewerage networks, and reliable power supply in industrial enclaves.
Industrial land allotment has also grown steadily, with 114 acres allotted in FY18 rising to 526 acres in FY25. In FY26 alone, UPSIDA has already allotted 88 acres across 261 plots.
The UPSIDA official noted that the influx of logistics and warehousing investments is expected to create significant employment opportunities and further strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem.
