In a major positive development in the Kashmir Valley, 190 schools in Srinagar will resume holding classes from Monday (19 August), reports Livemint.
As per the information shared by the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) administration, schools will be opened in Lasjan, Sangri, Panthachowk, Nowgam, Rajbagh, Jawahar Nagar, Gagribal, Dhara, Theed, Batmaloo and Shalteng.
As per the official spokesperson of the J&K administration, all the necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the safety and security of the students. The decision was taken after Srinagar’s deputy commissioner Shahid Iqbal Choudhary had convened a meeting with heads of schools and officials of the education department.
Choudhary said that the schools will be holding compensatory classes in the latter days of the month to make up for the days of education lost. he assured the school management of all required assistance and support to restart the schools and restore normalcy in the region.
