Bharatiya Janata Party is leading on 25 seats in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state Gujarat. The party had in 2014 parliamentary elections won all the 26 seats of the state.
According to the latest EC data, the BJP is leading on the 25 seats for which the counting is going on.
BJP’s president Amit Shah is contesting from Gandhinagar parliamentary seat of the state. As per the latest data, Shah has secured more than 114,558 votes while his rival from Congress has got 38,842 votes.
The seat, which was earlier held by BJP’s patriarch Lal Krishna Advani, is considered a strong hold of the party.
