After Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ayushman Bharat scheme in September this year, healthcare sector has been able to generate thousands of jobs with new technology being adopted as in tele-medicine etc.
Naukri JobSpeak Index calculated for the month of November 2018 reveals that there has been a remarkable year-on-year increase of 34 per cent in the healthcare sector. For the index to be quantified, job listings on several portals have been taken into account.
However, the overall online hiring activity didn’t exhibit significant increase in the month of November 2018 compared with the same month a year ago, mainly on account of Diwali. Hiring activity saw a fall of 1 per cent during the month at 2,084 compared with 2,113 in November 2017, the report said. Banking and financial services sector saw a decline of 23 per cent in hiring activity during the month.
Financial Express quoted Sumeet Singh, CMO, Infoedge India Ltd as saying, “Despite the festivities in the month of November, the Naukri Job Speak Index reflected a buoyant job market sentiment. This is in sync with the past trend of decline in hiring during festive season. The demand to hire talent across most sectors in the coming months looks optimistic and we should see December bouncing back.”
Overall, several sectors were studied as a part of the index. Cities-wise, Chennai stands first with 10 per cent, followed by Bengaluru at 7 per cent, Pune at 5 per cent, Hyderabad at 2 per cent. In Delhi and Mumbai, a declining trend in the hiring activity has been noticed.
