Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti (ABSS) on Sunday (4 November) demanded that an ordinance be introduced to progress ahead with the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, Indian Express has reported. The religious leaders asked their followers to empower Prime Minister Narendra Modi with another term.
The Samiti said that three dharma sabhas will be organised in Ayodhya, Nagpur and Bengaluru. Beginning 18 December, the Samiti plans to organise 500 such meetings across the length and breadth of the country.
The head of the Samiti, Hansdevacharya, said, “If we have to protect our lives, temples and mathas, daughters and sisters, culture and tradition, then this government must be brought back.”
The Samiti called for the establishment of a new ministry called ‘Ministry of Teerthan’ to pave ways for promotions of pilgrimages. Another one of the demands include an Act to be drafted to safeguard Ganga. To protect and conserve cows, they asked the central government to create ‘Gau Mantralaya’.
Apart from the aforementioned, the other list of demands include deportation of Rohingya Muslims, implementation of a national policy to control population, Uniform Civil Code and renaming of national capital New Delhi as Indraprastha.
