Advocate Digvijay Trivedi who was part of the legal team which was representing the deceased Sadhus in the Palghar lynching died in a road accident on Wednesday (13 May), India Today has reported.
The mishap happened on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway near Manor on Wednesday morning when the driver of the car reportedly lost control and flipped over killing Trivedi and seriously injuring his co-passenger and lawyer Preeti Trivedi.
Trivedi was on route to Surat to join Advocate P N Ojha at the Dahanu Court in an official capacity. Ojha is serving as the main lawyer representing the victims in the Palghar lyncing case. Trivedi was all set to become his junior counsel.
“I cannot say anything regarding the accident, whether there was any foul play or not. He was a junior lawyer and wanted to learn. So, I had allowed him to join me in this case”, Ojha was quoted as saying.
The lawyer also added that an RTO inspection of the accident will give a clearer picture of what transpired.
