In a major success for war-torn and terror-infested nation of Afghanistan, its security forces have eliminated the head of intelligence for ISIS Khorasan branch of ISIS (which is also known as Daesh), Assadullah Orakzai, reports Asian News Intelligence (ANI).
Making the development public, Afghanistan's National Directorate of Security (NDS) shared that Orakzai who is a Pakistani national was killed down near the city of Jalalabad which is the centre of Nangarhar province.
Involved in concocting deadly attacks on a number of military and civilian targets across Afghanistan, Orakzai was also known as Zia-ur-rahman, and was a native of the Akhel Orakzai agency of Pakistan.
This gains significance as the killing of Orakzai comes in follow up to major successes for the Afghan security forces in their pushback against ISIS Khorasan in the recent months.
In May, the forces had arrested top ISIS commander Zia-Ul-Haq along with top leaders of Daesh. And prior to that, on 4 April, Afghanistan had also announced the arrest of Abdullah Orakzai, the leader of ISIS Khorasan and 19 other Daesh members.
