Before filing the nomination, the PM addressed a gathering of BJP workers and visited the famous Kal Bhairav temple in the city.
Some of the top NDA leaders like Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar, Shiv Sena party chief Uddhav Thackrey, AIADMK's O Panneerselvam, Lok Janshakti Party president Ram Vilas Pawan, Shiromani Akali Dal's Parkash Singh accompanied PM Modi in the process.
‘Har Har Mahadev’
In a significant show of strength, the Prime Minister also took out a mega roadshow in Varanasi yesterday evening (25 April).
The seven-kilometre-long roadshow which passed by ancient temples and ghats of the city took two-and-a-half hours and finally ended in the holiest ghat of them all, the Dashashwamedh. Along the way, he was swarmed by a sea of supporters.
Around six lakh people are estimated to have joined the Prime Minister in the roadshow and were heard chanting Har Har Mahadev and pro-Modi slogans.
