Prior to the commencement of proceedings, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the opposition to not bother about its numbers and focus on active participation in the lower house of the Parliament.
“In Parliament, we should forget 'Paksh', 'Vipaksh' and think about issues with 'nishpaksh spirit', work in larger interest of nation”, said Prime Minster Modi while speaking to media persons outside the Parliament.
He also expressed hope that the seventeenth session would be more productive as compared to previous years and as reiterated that he and his government values the opposition.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
