Pakistan has re-opened its airspace over the city of Lahore which is near the India-Pakistan border, signalling that tensions between the two countries might be de-escalating.
This follows the return of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman of Indian Air Force on Friday (1 March) to India.
The Islamic republic had partially opened its airspace on 1 March (Friday) by allowing flights from Peshawar, Karachi, Quetta and Islamabad, but kept operations suspended at airports in India’s vicinity as reported by Indian Express.
The flight operations shall resume in Lahore from today (3 March) after they were suspended on 27 February (Wednesday) post Indian airstrike in Balakot in retaliation to the Pulwama attack which was conducted by Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)- a terror outfit based in Pakistan.
