Amidst the security beef-up in Jammu and Kashmir, along with evacuation of tourists and pilgrims, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a whip on its members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to be compulsorily present in the House from 5 to 7 August. reports ANI.
The move has furthered the speculation that the party is planning to take big decisions over the special status of terrorism-ridden state. However, the governor Satya Pal Malik has quelled the rumours of government planning to do away with Article 370, Article 35A and trifurcation of the state.
National Conference leader Omar Abdullah had a meeting with the governor today morning and the latter assured him that no announcement would be made regarding the special status of the state.
The governor said that the security tightening was on the basis of the intelligence inputs, and said that a pure security measure was being mixed up with the issues that it has no connection with. He requested the political leaders to ask their supporters to maintain calm and not believe the "exaggerated" rumours.

The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
