In a major development in relation to the violence that rocked Delhi's Seemapuri during a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act , the Delhi Police has arrested five people, including two Bangladeshi nationals, for indulging in the rioting, reports Asian News International (ANI).
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Delhi police nabbed a total of five miscreants including the two Bangladeshi citizens who have all been sent off to a 14-day judicial custody. Apart from the five arrested, the force has also detained two juveniles who have been sent to the Juvenile Justice Board.
The arrest of the five rioters comes after Delhi Police first analysed the criminal records of about 24 persons involved in the rioting in the Seemapuri area. The rioters were identified by deploying the use of latest technology solutions to scan and analyse the blurry CCTV footages.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that the police have also arrested several people for the violence which erupted in other areas of the capital city, including Seelampur, Daryaganj and Jamia Nagar.
