The long wait by Apple users for the Cupertino-based company to officially open its doors in India will soon be over, as it will open its first official company-owned outlet at the Maker Maxity mall in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), reports The Economic Times.
Apple has already taken out a lease on 20,000-25,000 square feet of commercial space in the mall, and if everything goes to plan, the outlet can open for business some time next year.
“The Mumbai flagship store will be on three levels – one floor dedicated as experience centre, another floor for retailing and the top for service centre,” said a source.
In previous years, Apple was not able to open its company-owned outlets in India due to strict government single brand norms. In August, the norms were relaxed to do away with some requirements which were the main challenge for companies to open such stories in the country.
