Witnessing an upsurge of fresh COVID-19 cases in the State's capital city of Dehradun, Uttarakhand Government has decided that all the entrants from outside the State will be subjected to rapid antigen COVID-19 testing, reports Economic Times.
State's Police yesterday (28 November) announced that they would monitor the movement of people from other States who come to Uttarakhand. It has issued directions to all the policemen posted on the border check posts for proper checking and keeping full details of such people.
Uttarakhand Police said that entry will be allowed to the people coming from outside states, especially from Delhi, at the Ashkrodi, Kulhan, and Pass Gate border check posts of the state only after testing.
Furthermore, in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19 in Dehradun, the capital city is also preparing for a weekly lockdown of all market places from today (29 November), with an exception for shops selling essential items and commodities.
It should be noted that in the present day, the State has 4,812 active cases of COVID-19 disease, while 67,514 people have recovered so far.
