Ayodhya: 67.6 Km Stretch Of '84 Kosi Parikrama Marg' Approved, 236 Km Long Road To Be Built At A Cost Of Rs 6,500 Crore

The Narendra Modi government has approved a 67.6 kilometer stretch of the 236 km long 84 (Chaurasi) Kosi Parikrama Marg in Ayodhya.
The stretch will be built at a cost of Rs 1679.75 crore, Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari said on Wednesday (12 October).
The minister revealed that the government has so far approved a 128 km long stretch of the national highway to be built at a cost of Rs 3,164 crore.
He added that the government will approve the construction of the remaining 108 km stretch of the 236 km long road by March 2023.
The Chaurasi Kosi Parikrama Marg, a path meant for circumambulation and known for its importance to Ram bhaktas and pilgrims, passes through five districts Ayodhya, Barabanki, Gonda, Basti, and Ambedkarnagar.
Gadkari said that a 5.5-meter wide walkway would come up along the highway Devotees will use the walkway for the 84–Kosi parikrama.
“At 23 places along the route wayside amenities will also come up. Besides, Ramayan era trees will also be planted along the route. Around 51 religious places along the route will be connected with it through link roads,” a report quoted an unnamed official as saying.
