Back From The Dead And On The Road: Jawa Motorcycles Make A Comeback, Launched In India

The brand new 300cc Jawa Motorcycles have been launched in India today as of 15 November. The company currently offers three options to choose from, them being Jawa, Jawa Forty Two and Jawa Perak. With a token advance of Rs 5,000, a person can book the bikes which start at Rs 1.55 lakh. The standard Jawa costs Rs 1.64 lakh, the 42 is priced at Rs 1.55 lakh and the Perak will cost Rs 1.89 lakh.
The relaunch comes 22 years after Jawa closed operations in India, News 18 reported. Mahindra and Mahindra has acquired the license to reproduce the motorcycles in India. The 293 cc liquid cooled single-cylinder engine has been developed at centres in Pune and Varese, Italy. The motorcycles are set to have a 6-speed gearbox.
The engine is going to be ready for BS-VI and offers a range of nine different colours, equipped with a telescopic fork at the front and a twin shock absorber at the rear, the bikes come with a single-channel ABS at the front. Jawa’s launch is set to provide competition to other brands like Royal Enfield etc.
