Bangalore Bar-Cum-Restaurant Fire Claims Five Lives

A fire broke out at a bar-cum-restaurant in the wee hours of Monday In Bangalore’s Kalasipalya market area, killing five workers sleeping inside, The Hindu reported.
The five deceased have been identified. Three were from Tumakuru, one from Hassan and the other from Mandya. The five are suspected to have died of asphyxiation.
Fire and emergency services were alerted by passers-by at 2.30 hours after they noticed smoke billowing out of the bar-cum-restaurant in the busy Kalasipalya market area. The fire was doused by early morning and the five bodies recovered.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Police have registered a case and are investigating further on the incident. The mishap in Bangalore comes on the heels of a fire mishap at Kamala mills compound in Mumbai, where restaurant and pubs were functioning, claiming 15 lives.
