Bengaluru: 28.1 Per Cent Increase In Passenger Volume At Kempegowda International Airport 

Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru has recorded a growth of 28.1 per cent in terms of increase in passenger traffic for the second quarter of FY 2018-19. In the period of three months until the end of September, the airport saw more than 80 lakh passengers as opposed to 63 lakh passengers in the previous FY of 2017-18.

Bangalore International Airport Limited, the body that runs the airport, has given the credits to factors such as introduction of new routes, improved load factors and other offers that attract passengers, Financial Express has reported. As far as the second quarter is concerned, it saw an increase of 30.5 per cent in passenger volume, by touching a number of 70 lakh.

Around the same time last year, the air traffic movement performed well by an increased rate of 23.4 per cent. On 31 August this year, the airport managed a whopping 692 aircraft, the highest ever.

Cargo has increased by 16.4 per cent compared to the same period last year. Financial Express quoted the MD and CEO of BIAL, Hari Marar, as saying, “We appreciate the support of our partners as we work together to give our passengers an excellent travel experience.
