The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Management Academy, Bengaluru has launched a postgraduate diploma in aviation management (PGDAM) course, Deccan Herald has reported.
It will be a 15-month programme approved by the All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE). The programme includes visit to foreign aviation companies and industry exposure module. Thirty-five people will be trained through the programme.
The programme was officially launched by V M Chamola, Director (HR) HAL. He said that the aviation institute will help in creating human resources for HAL and rest of the country. He added that the aviation industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in the country.
The training areas will include flight hangar management, wind tunnel and flight testing, composite manufacturing and air traffic management. The course syllabus includes aircraft manufacturing process and system management, aircraft qualification and certification, technology and lifecycle management, strategy and corporate management.
Aviation Business and Contracts, Principles and Practices of Management, Organisation Behaviour and Human Resource Management, Aviation Finance and Economics, Aviation Supply Chain Management and Logistics, Aviation Quality & Regulatory Management are the areas that will be covered under the course syllabus.
