West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee came up with a new theory that the BJP intentionally scheduled the Lok Sabha polling in the summer heat to give advantage to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While speaking to India Today’s Rajdeep Sardesai in Midnapore, Mamata alleged that BJP intentionally postponed the polls in districts of Midnapore, Bankura, Birbhum and Purulia to later stages during high summer to help Prime Minister Modi.
She claimed that in previous years these districts were polled during the initial part of the election and the seven phases of polling has been designed to benefit Modi.
She also stressed that Jai Shri Ram is not her slogan and that she will only chant Jai Hind and Vande Mataram. Mamata also attacked Prime Minister Modi over his attempt to contact her during Cyclone Fani by claiming that it was politically motivated.
During the interview Mamata also proceeded to attack the national media for acting as the Dalal (Broker) of Narendra Modi, “which has sold its credentials in favour of Modi”.
She claimed that the Mahagathbandhan would be in a position to form the government following the Lok Sabha polls and confidently boasted that her party is not facing any challenge from the BJP.
