To clinch the contract for India’s ambitious programme to procure a vast number of Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) for its Air Force and Navy, US aerospace major Boeing has, once again, offered to set up a production line of its F/A-18 Super Hornet fighters in the country if the company gets contracts , reports Financial Express.

Boeing is also offering a total transfer of technology (ToT) and is willing to tie up with state owed HAL and Mahindra Defence Systems.

Dan Gillian, a senior officer at Boeing said, “India-US relationship is uniquely positioned and we are working on setting up a new production facility for building the next generation aircraft in India. We have a robust ToT plan.” Boeing says, F/A-18 is ideal for Indian Navy’s planned acquisition of 57 multi-role carrier-borne fighters.
