In a proud moment for the country, US multinational courier delivery giant FedEx Express has appointed Rajesh Subramaniam who is an Indian-American as its president and chief executive order, reports The Hindustan Times.
Subramaniam, who is currently serving as the executive vice-president, chief marketing and communications officer of FedEx Corporation, is expected to assume his new role from January 1, 2019. He replaces incumbent David L Cunningham at the company headquartered in Tennessee.
Subramaniam, who has been with Fed Ex for more than 27 years, is from Thiruvananthapuram and holds a graduate degree from IIT-Bombay. He has held various positions in the organisation throughout his 27-year tenure.
“Raj’s global vision and broad experience make him uniquely qualified to lead our largest operating company. We look forward to the continued growth of FedEx Express within our global portfolio as Raj takes on this critical role,” said David J Bronczek, president and chief operating officer, FedEx Corporation.
Subramaniam earned his MBA from the University of Texas in Austin and Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering from Syracuse University.
