Centre To Set Up 24 Ayush Centres To Skill Doctors And Create Jobs

The Union minister for Ayush, Shripad Yesso Naik, announced that the Centre would set up 24 Ayush centres in the country, Deccan Herald has reported. He was speaking while inaugurating a Clinical Research Centre in Naturopathy and Yoga at SDM College of Naturopathy and Yoga.
“The Centre will help in improving the skills of doctors and will fund research and upgrade of laboratories. Awareness will be created among the masses on Naturopathy. The modern lifestyle and food system are responsible for several diseases in mankind. Majority of these diseases can be cured through Naturopathy. There is a need to conduct scientific research and study Naturopathy and Yoga,” the minister said.
Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, N Veerendra Heggade, praised the ministry for promoting traditional medicine systems like Ayurveda and Naturopathy. Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) Vice-Chancellor Dr S Sacchidananda said that an integrated system of medicine can help in curing diseases.
