Centre To Unveil Draft National Telecom Policy On 1 May

Telecom Secretary Aruna Sundarajan today (26 April) said that the Centre will likely release the draft of the new National Telecom Policy on 1 May to seek public comments, reports PTI. The National Telecom Policy (NTP) 2018 will be open for public comment for a period of 15-20 days.
The direction of the new policy, that we hope you will see as early as on 1 May will be reform-oriented, it will be investor friendly and bring down the cost of compliances. It will hopefully trigger innovation, will focus on Make in India and provide opportunities for partnering with lit of companies.Telecom Secretary Aruna Sundararajan
Once the public has given its feedback, the Department of Telecom (DoT) will begin with its inter-ministerial consultation before approaching the Union Cabinet for its final approval.
