With direct presence in over 790 cities in India, the Chinese smartphone and electronics manufacturer Xiaomi has become the largest brand retail network in the offline market in country, a study has said, reports Hindu Businessline.

The study conducted by Channelplay has found that Xiaomi has the largest retail presence across India, which is over 44 per cent larger than the rival Samsung India and 117 per cent more than Bata India. These include an array of store formats including Mi Homes, Mi Studios and Mi Stores.

The company had recently launched its 2500th Mi store in Karnataka and is expanding its reach in Tier-III cities rapidly. The strategy is aimed at ensuring the customers everywhere get to purchase all Mi offerings under one single roof.

It should be noted that the company has achieved the massive expanse in a small time frame as its first offline retail store opened up only in 2017.

Xiaomi, which is the fourth-largest smartphone brand in the world now, has its presence in over 790 cities in India.

“We started our offline journey in India in 2017 and our expansion gained momentum in 2018. It has led to a lot of learnings,” said Muralikrishnan B, Chief Operating Officer, Xiaomi India.

We are proud to be bringing the best specifications, with the highest quality at an honest price to our customers in all rural areas, he added.
