In a boost to rail connectivity between Jharkhand and New Delhi, a new superfast AC 3-tier train ‘Humsafar Express’ was launched on Friday (15 February 2019) between Madhupur, Jharkhand and Anand Vihar, New Delhi, reports Financial Express.
The new train will be operated within the Eastern Zone of Indian Railways. The dignitaries inaugurating the first official run of the train were Minister of Labour, Employment and Training for Jharkhand Raj Paliwar and Member of Parliament Nishikant Dubey.
All coaches of the train are of Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) make and of the AC 3-tier class. The design of these coaches has its origin in German technology. This design is considered more modern and safe compared to older designs produced by ICF.
The LHB coaches will not pile up one above the other in case of a mishap, thus reducing the number of casualties in an accident.
Moreover, a premium AC lounge is also going to be opened at Madhupur railway station and the circulating area of the premises is also going to be widened.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
