The construction of the grand temple of Lord Ram at the holy ancient city of Ayodhya is estimated to cost around Rs 1,100 crore, of which around Rs 300-400 crore will be the cost of building the main temple structure, reports Times of India.

Sharing the details, treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Swami Govind Dev Giriji Maharaj said that the structural experts and engineers are drawing up a plan for the foundation of the temple and that the entire construction is expected to be completed in three-and-a-half years.

The Ram temple trust has already received around Rs 100 crore in online donations so far. The trust further plans to reach out to four lakh villages and 11 crore families to ensure maximum participation of devotees in the initiative to raise funds for the grand temple. The trust has already launched a mass contact and fund contribution campaign in this direction.

It should be noted that experts from Roorkee based Central Building Research Institute and IITs at Mumbai, Delhi, Madras and Guwahati are working along with special engineers from Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Tata Group to prepare the plan for a strong foundation of the temple.
