As many as six of Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Palace Hotel employees have tested positive with the novel coronavirus, FirstPost reported attributing a private hospital doctor on Saturday (11 April).

"Six Taj hotel employees are being treated at Bombay Hospital and they tested positive to COVID-19. They are recovering and their condition is stable now," Dr Gautam Bhansali, consulting physician at Bombay Hospital, said.

While the Indian Hotels Company, that runs the famous Taj Hotel chain, confirmed that some of its employees had fallen prey to the deadly COVID-19, it did not provide specific numbers.

Maharashtra has been the worst-hit region in India with 1,761 positive cases in the state where 127 people have lost their lives. Mumbai alone has 1,146 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
