With the number of confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) continuing to rise, the Government of Haryana on Tuesday (17 March) issued an advisory asking all the companies operating in the bustling Gurugram city to ask their employees to work from home, reports Economic Times.
Home to an array of technology, information technology (IT), corporate and business process outsourcing (BPO) firms from India and abroad, Gurugram hosts a sizeable number of office goers. The Government has asked them all to allow their employees to work from home till 31 March in larger public interest.
It should be noted that a similar advisory had also been issued by the Government of Karnataka last week in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Having a large presence in Gurugram, technology behemoth Google has also moved to a 'recommended work from home' regime across its offices in India and in the entire Asia Pacific.
Meanwhile, it should also be noted that the industry body Nasscom has also been advising companies to allow work from home as much as possible.
