Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh is being slammed by cricket fans and social media users after he reportedly posted a story on Instagram glorifying Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
As per reports, Harbhajan posted this story on the thirty-seventh anniversary of Operation Blue Star which was launched in 1984 to capture Bhindranwale and his associates from the Golden Temple who wanted to carve out a separate nation of Khalisthan through their secessionist violence. He was subsequently killed in action by the Indian security forces.
Harbhajan reportedly hailed Bhindranwale as a martyr and offered him his pranaam. The poster of Bhindranwale reportedly states "Live with pride, die for the religion".
Many cricket fans and social media users have as a result slammed Harbhajan for the story which now seems to have been deleted from his account. He is yet to either address the controversy or issue an apology for his actions.
Harbhajan Singh has represented India in 220 tests and 113 ODIs in a career spanning 18 years. He is currently an IPL player with the Kolkata Knight Riders.
How can a man say he loves India and then glorify a terrorist who killed thousands? How would Americans treat an athlete who says he loves America but thinks Osama is a martyr?

Bhajji's record now leaves a bitter taste. India was proud of your record because it was proud of you.
If Harbhajan singh still continues to do commentary in IPL or other cricket tournaments, personally I will have nothing to do with cricket anymore.

Yesterday (6 June) posters of Bhindranwale and Khalistani flags were also seen in the Golden Temple, which as per reports, has also occurred in the past during the anniversary of Operation Blue Star.
