In an Aaj Tak report which was shared by journalist Anjana Om Kashyap, Vikas Dubey's mother Sarla Devi when quizzed over her expectations from the government said that the administration should take any action which it deems fit.
"Hamare kehne se kuch nahin hoga bhaiya...itni badi sarkar hai, is time woh bhajpa mein hai nahin, woh sapa mein hai (We cannot influence the government, it is big and powerful, moreover he is currently a member of SP and not the BJP", said Dubey's mother.
She also reconfirmed Dubey's Samajwadi Party links when a journalist proceeded to ask her, "Is samay sapa mein hai, samajwadi party mein hai (He is currently a member of the Samajwadi Party?)".
Dubey who is accused of murdering eight Uttar Pradesh cops in Kanpur was finally arrested from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh today morning (9 July).
Dubey had been eluding the police since the past one week and though four dozen teams of Special Task Force and state police were chasing him, they could not nab him.
The Madhya Pradesh police has taken the gangster away and their Uttar Pradesh counterparts will now seek transit remand and bring him to Kanpur.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
