An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Santhanpara police station in Kerala has been suspended for dancing drunk while on duty, according to officials.
The ASI has been identified as K C Shaji.
The district police chief is said to have requested a report after a video of Shaji dancing at Mariamman temple in Poopara town, Idukki, went viral on social media.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night (4 April).
The report filed by the special branch police led to the ASI's suspension.
The matter is under further investigation.
