Defence Minister Rajnath Singh To Perform Shashtra Puja In Paris Ahead Of Receiving India’s First Rafale

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will perform the traditional Sashtra Puja (weapons worship) in the French capital of Paris during Dusshera. He would be travelling to France to receive Indian Air Force’s (IAF) first Rafale fighter jet.

The first Rafale jet will be handed over to India by Dassault in a ceremony which will be attended by Singh and the new IAF Chief R K S Bhadauria. While in France, Singh is also expected to fly a sortie on India’s Rafale on that day.

Singh role as a Defence Minister has seen him flying - and briefly controlling the aircraft during a sortie on Tejas aircraft. He was also recently recorded firing a medium machine on board India’s aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya.
